In the third quarter of 2024, the Middle East saw notable performance trends among the top communication apps on the Android platform. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps demonstrated varying patterns in downloads, revenue, and active user engagement.

Telegram from Telegram FZ-LLC experienced a significant increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $49.8K in the final week of September. Weekly downloads showed an upward trend towards the end of the quarter, reaching about 189.8K in the second week of September, while weekly active users consistently hovered around 9.9M by the quarter's end.

WhatsApp Messenger, developed by WhatsApp LLC, maintained strong user engagement with weekly active users reaching nearly 29.8M by the end of September. The app's downloads peaked at around 185.5K in mid-August, although it did not generate any revenue during this quarter.

WhatsApp Business showed a notable increase in weekly revenue, climbing to approximately $11.3K by mid-September. Downloads peaked at about 158.5K in the same period, and weekly active users increased to approximately 7.9M by the end of the quarter.

Snapchat from Snap Inc saw a steady rise in weekly revenue, reaching around $41.5K towards the end of September. Downloads showed a peak in mid-September at approximately 143.9K, while weekly active users remained strong, ending the quarter at about 12.5M.

Lastly, Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. had a modest revenue trajectory with slight fluctuations, peaking at $177 in early July. Weekly downloads reached a high of about 135.7K in the first week of the quarter, and active users remained stable at around 10.1M towards the end of September.
